On February 24th, Atlanta witnessed an inspiring celebration of empowerment and fitness as adidas Cornerstone Community and WISH Atlanta collaborated to honor Black History Month and recognize the impactful work of today’s Black women leaders. The event, hosted at the Black-owned fitness studio The Loft Athletic Club, brought together community members to celebrate and support the positive contributions of individuals like Aeshia DeVore Branch, founder of PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT. Amidst a backdrop of unity and philanthropy, Aeshia and her organization were honored, highlighting the spirit of giving and empowerment that defines the Atlanta community. Take a look at the event’s media coverage from 11alive.com, rollingout.com, and footwearnews.com.

Upon arrival, Sweat Sisters were warmly welcomed before stepping out of their cars. Once inside, they were greeted with limited edition PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT x Wish tees, unveiling a never-before-seen PGS logo.

Aeshia, the visionary behind PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT, led the group in team-building exercises and empowering affirmations, setting the tone for an uplifting experience. As DJ Amber Alert set the beats in motion, the participants poured their energy into the workout, leaving everything on the floor. The event aimed to provide these young women with a positive space to have fun, get fit, and connect with like-minded individuals.

“The local communities of fitness are the ones that really care the most. Those are the places where you will find those family-oriented vibes,” remarked Julia Campbell of WISH ATL.

The highlight of the event came when Aeshia was honored as one of the Black women leaders making a significant impact in the community. The adidas Cornerstone Community presented Aeshia with flowers and a $5,000 donation to her charity Sweat Makes Cents, recognizing her dedication to promoting fitness and wellness among Black women.

Dozens of college-age women from Georgia State University and Spelman gathered for a free “Oh My Glutes” workout led by Mecca Day, a high-intensity class that targets the lower body. However, this session was more than just a workout; it celebrated female empowerment.

Following the high-energy workout, Mecca sat down with Aeshia to share her inspiring journey. FUN FACT: The wellness entrepreneur and 2021 PGS Sweatlebrity™️ Award winner, co-owns The Loft Athletic Club, which is located near the Georgia State University campus, where she first discovered PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT and cemented her passion for empowering others through fitness. We are forever proud of her!

As the event concluded, attendees were treated to healthy refreshments from the Perfect Pear Juice Bar, further emphasizing the importance of fueling the body and the spirit. And to keep guests motivated to practice self-care, students each received flowers from Nourish Botanica, and a gift bag from adidas packed with essentials for their health journey.
