How Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Aisha Baron Balances a Demanding Career with a Healthy Lifestyle!

Born in Boston and raised in Southern California, Dr. Aisha Baron is one of the few African-American board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeons in the United States, Over the years, this Spelman College graduate has built an extremely successful brand for herself. You may recognize her from Lifetime’s hit reality show Atlanta Plastic, where she was able to show off her scalpel skills to the entire world. Known as the BreastNBodyDoc on Instagram, Aisha’s impeccable work has empowered tons of women and made them feel even more beautiful than they already were! Wanna hear how she does it? On being a double-minority:
“Because of the way my father brought us up, we had a very strong sense of self and who we were and what we were. He started drilling it into me that ‘because you are black and a female, you will have to work twice as hard to even get any type of recognition’ We had a very strong sense of self so I didn’t take any crap when I was younger, growing up as a minority in that environment.”
On what PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT means to her:
“I think that PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT means working out doesn’t have to be pretentious. It’s kind of for everybody. It challenges the notion of who’s supposed to work out, to sweat, or let their hair down. That title is about removing inhibitions and really kind of getting down to your goals and having a healthy lifestyle while still looking good.”
