See below for a few highlights from the interview.

On creating her own path at 21:

I majored in Business Information Systems and I minored in Computer Science. Interestingly enough though, when I graduated I wasn’t interested in pursuing that career. I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to do at the time. About six months after I graduated, I decided to open up a clothing store!”

On friendships and bonds that have been formed through OMNoire:

“At our retreats, you are going to find a woman or several that can understand either what you’re going through or what you’ve been through. We have a lot of women that maybe they’ve gone through a divorce, so that’s someone you can connect to. Or has survived an illness like cancer, that’s somebody you can relate to. You can talk about your journey that is different than your friends at home who have no idea what it’s like to go through cancer treatment. So, these are opportunities for you to build different tribes for different stages of your life. That doesn’t mean you love people that have been there for you any less, it’s just that you are finding different support systems and it’s important that we have those.”

On what PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT means to her:

“That being fit is an inside job, and that’s where you find your beauty.”
