2014 Essence College Tour Brings PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT to Spelman College

The 2014 ESSENCE College Tour came to Spelman College on Friday, October 17 during the school’s annual homecoming and brought along PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT to host a series of interactive workouts for students and alum.
The day began with hundreds of Spelman and Morehouse alumni stopping by Market Friday at Manley Center to shop from local vendors, participate in an Ultra Sheen model search, get tips from ESSENCE Beauty Editor Denna Campbell, and score the latest Ultra Sheen hair products.
At the same time, PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT, a fitness movement that motivates young women to live active lifestyles, hosted some cool sweat sessions such as Boom Shock led by Stephanie Jones and Hip Hop Zumba instructed by Brittany Inge.
Special guests, including gospel singer Adia, emerging artist KING, and world-renowned Olympic track star Monica Hargrove, danced and jumped double dutch with dozens of enthusiastic Spelmanites to prove that fitness can be fun.
The all-over message of healthy living and wellness was well received by not only the students but by administration and faculty as well. As the day waned and the event ended, people were still buzzing about how much fun they had at Market Friday and the need for more collaborations with PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT at Spelman College.
