Adrienne Bailon Hosts Back to School Zumba Party for Teen Girls!
August 24, 2013 • By PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT
This past Saturday, August 24, The Ailey Extension, The Ailey Organization’s program of dance and fitness classes for the general public, and beloved actress, songstress, dancer, and TV personality, Adrienne Bailon hosted PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT’s BACK TO SCHOOL ZUMBA PARTY presented with Women on the Move. Women On The Move (WOTM), a New York-based female empowerment organization, provided female mentors accomplished in their perspective fields with a day of fun-filled activities they can enjoy while inspiring and educating young girls to become their best selves.
It was a day full of SWEAT-spiration and excitement as The Ailey Extension’s Shahidah Ansari Zumba® Jammer (Choreography Specialist) led a class of over 80 girls ages 13-18 who danced non stop to a high-energy Zumba mix alongside Adrienne and participating mentors. Mentors included radio personality and marketing maven, Simone “Boss Lady” Amelia, VH1’s Love & Hip Hop’s Tahiry Jose, ESSENCE Senior Health and Relationships Editor, Sharon Boone, Black Girls Code’s Donna Knutt, and Celebrity Nail Artist, Dawn Sterling.
Emerging Latin pop singer Veronica Vega also stopped by to inspire teen guests with her fitness story.
“PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT means that the fly girls take good care of themselves, that the fly girls are healthy, and they are not afraid to sweat,” says Adrienne Bailon. “I think that is an amazing thing.”
Sirius XM’s DJ S. WHiT turned up the event as a guest DJ. Brand participants included TRUKFIT, Under Armour, Beats by Dre, True Vision Media Group, and J Travel Management.
Congrats to teen guest Gabrielle Abraham for scoring a Beats By Dre white pill for back to school! Check out the video recap below!
