From Excavating to Exercising Noel Davis Didn’t Let a Car Accident Crush Her Goals
May 2, 2022 • By Aeshia
When her life changed drastically, the archaeologist turned fitness entrepreneur focused on changing people’s lives for the better.
From the moment she reached her tween years, Noel Davis dreamed of studying human history by pursuing a career in archaeology. She got a step closer to her goal while studying anthropology and geological science at Rutgers University of New Brunswick and archaeology at Manchester University in England. These opportunities led to her scoring her first federal project in Philadelphia on I-95 in 2014.
A year later, a traumatic accident changed Noel’s life forever. She lost strength in her back, and the now 29-year-old has a bulging disc that causes pain down her legs from time to time. Physical therapy helped, but a doctor in mid-2016 recommended that she start training her core to strengthen her back, giving her hope that she could continue archaeology.
While working as an environmental instructor in Camden, NJ, for a year and a half, Noel’s love for health and fitness grew. The Willingboro, NJ native then decided to get certified after many recommended becoming a personal trainer and birthed her business “Paris Fit” on September 1, 2017. Please briefly share your fitness journey with us.
I’m an archaeologist turned personal trainer and now a gym owner. Over the years, my company Paris Fit LLC has been able to teach at senior centers, grade schools, and universities. In addition, I’ve talked on panels, at fitness expos, co-host on the local news, and much more. Previously, I helped raise money for CHOP Philadelphia Walk/Run for Childhood Cancer and donated and hosted back-to-school drives. In addition, I collected over 1000 toys from my 3rd Cardio Holiday Challenge/Toy Drive. In January 2020, I opened my first fitness studio in Old City, Philadelphia, where I now record for my live stream classes, host classes, and offer personal training. Working with companies such as XOD network, Boxed Water, NIKE, WPBA, and Under Armour has allowed me to expand my brand while creating new opportunities for others to grow their love for health and wellness.
