May 25, 2025 • By PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT
From heartfelt letters and scenic hikes to honest conversations and sisterhood moments, the experience offered a much-needed space for moms to reflect, reset, and be celebrated—’Sound Mind, Sound Body.’

What happens when you combine nature, intentional wellness, and a community of 22 powerhouse moms? You get the Moms on the Move Hike—an unforgettable experience hosted by PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT in partnership with ASICS.
Held at Sweetwater Creek State Park, this private event recognized Mental Health Awareness Month, celebrated Mother’s Month, and honored the inspiring Terri J. Vaughn, star of Netflix’s She The People.
From guided movement to deep reflection, every moment was curated to fill the minds, bodies, and hearts of mothers who show up daily for everyone else—and finally had a space to show up for themselves.
The Energy: From Welcome to Wellness
The morning began with opening remarks from PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT founder Aeshia DeVore Branch, actress Terri J. Vaughn, and movement coach Deja Riley Izydorczyk, who each spoke about the power of showing up—especially for yourself.
After an inspiring icebreaker that prompted moms to write letters of encouragement to themselves, celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins led the group through a grounding warm-up before the mindful hike began.
The Experience: Hiking with Heart
The women—many meeting for the first time—bonded over stories, deep breaths, and quiet strength as they walked together through the red trail. A moment of prayer, moments of silence, history lessons, and even shared laughter framed a transformative journey through nature.
Along the way, guests exchanged letters and captured joyful “sweat sister” photos at designated scenic stops—reminding each other that the road to self-care is always better with a support system.
The experience was made even more powerful by the incredible women who joined us—true powerhouses like multimedia personality Rashan Ali; fitness coach and motivator Halani Lobdell (aka Mrs2WeeksOut); lifestyle influencer Dayna Bolden; mompreneur Trina Smalls; board-certified family medicine physician Dr. Barbara Joy Jones; celebrity psychologist Dr. Joy Beckwith; Essence’s own Barkue Tubman-Zawolo, a champion for African women in leadership; and award-winning social entrepreneur Jasmine Crowe, founder of Goodr and a leading voice in the fight against food insecurity. Also in attendance were Traci and Towanda Braxton, celebrated entertainers and advocates for women’s empowerment, whose presence added heart, authenticity, and sisterhood to the experience.
The Community: Mindfulness Meets Motivation
The hike ended with a light, nourishing refreshment break and a heart-centered wellness panel moderated by Aeshia, featuring Terri and Deja. The conversation touched on motherhood, emotional resilience, and the importance of rest in a world that often demands hustle.
The experience was made even more meaningful thanks to generous support from our brand partners: The Hollywood Trainer provided at-home training equipment to keep guests on track, Gymwrap kept guests cool in style, Olori Beauty provided a luxe self-care essential, Black Girl Vitamins delivered wellness support tailored for us, and The Puff Cuff celebrated natural hair with love and intention.
Each guest left with a curated gift bag filled with love, resources, and reminders that they are worthy of care, too.
The Moms on the Move Hike wasn’t just a wellness event—it was a reset, a reflection, and a reminder that when women come together with purpose, healing happens.
We’re endlessly grateful to every mom who showed up, shared space, and reminded us that strength doesn’t always roar—sometimes, it walks gently through the trees, shoulder to shoulder with sisterhood.
Whether you’re lacing up for your next walk, hike, or simply seeking a moment of reflection, the Moms on the Move Hike playlist is here to accompany you. Curated with love by PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT, this collection of empowering tracks is designed to uplift your spirit and keep you moving with purpose.
