Singer Stacy Barthe, Actress Elise Neal, and Karen Civil Join PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT for a Mentorship Hike in LA

On Friday, October 11, PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT teamed with singer/songwriter Stacy Barthe to host a PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT AFTER SCHOOL HIKE sponsored by True Vision Media.

It was an afternoon filled with motivation, laughter, education, fitness, and excitement as over a dozen girls, ages 13-18, arrived via party bus and hiked nonstop up Los Angeles’ famed Runyon Canyon alongside Stacy and participating mentors.

Following a light warm-up, Ranger Russell Brown gave attendees a history lesson about the state park.

During the 45-minute hike, each teen partnered with a female executive or entertainer as their hiking buddy to discuss everything from fitness to career/personal goals. Everyone celebrated with high fives and cheers as each person made it to the top of Runyon. Mentors included actress Elise Neal, singer Sabi, film producer Monica “Dollphace” Floyd, entrepreneur and social media maven Karen Civil, 3x Olympian USA Volleyball Player Lindsey Berg, singer Shanice, painter and designer Tonia Calderon, Co-owner of Fruition Las Vegas and founder of MISSION I’MPOSSIBLE Samantha Jo Alonso, model/comedian Porsche Thomas, and music manager Jules Dougall.

"One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to overcome was weight loss," says Stacy Barthe. "I lost 170 pounds. Music got me through my workouts. I would literally climb this mountain furiously blasting Jay-Z."

Congrats to teen guest Meagan Furr for scoring a Beats By Dre pill for all of her upcoming sweat sessions!

FOUNDER | Aeshia is living her dream. The social entrepreneur unites and empowers girls to be health leaders in their communities. The child obesity epidemic along with the void of entertaining yet positive fitness content and events for young women (ages 13-22) led to the conception and rapid growth of her passionate venture. Before creating Pretty Girls Sweat, Aeshia worked in the TV industry for over 9 years - working her way up from an intern at ABC to a producer on Sundance Channel's celebrated, primetime series ICONOCLASTS. The former high school athlete (track, volleyball, and basketball) and proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was also a model for Wilhelmina in New York City. In her free time, the wife and mother of three girls enjoys reading inspirational books, listening to music, eating great food with friends, and enjoying the outdoors.
