PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT TAKES NY! PGS and Girl Scouts of Nassau County Join Forces For Their First Annual Fitness Party

On my honor, we came through dripping (drip, drip)!

What do you get when you cross Girl Scouts of America and PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT? A phenomenal, fun-filled sweat party! Returning to New York, PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT and over 50 Girl Scouts from Nassau County, ages 8-17, gathered together on July 14th for the 1st Annual Girl Scout Fitness Party held at the Crossfit Sanctuary in New Hyde Park, New York. Hosted by PGS Ambassador Raven Brewington and over ten PGS Ambassadors, who traveled from all over the country, this event was truly a one-of-a-kind experience that inspired and motivated all of the young women and girls to improve and impact the world by developing leadership skills through wellness.

Just as all Girl Scout meetings do, the fun fitness experience began with everyone reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Girl Scouts Promise, allowing the PGS ambassador graduates and volunteers to relive former pastimes when they too were Girl Scouts. Following the introduction of hosts including a super special guest appearance by PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT CEO/Founder Aeshia DeVore Branch, the fun began!

All of the attendees were divided into four teams. Within their teams, the girls broke a healthy sweat participating in multiple stations including a jammin’ outdoor cardio session led by PGS Ambassadors Zamara and Jennifer. Inside, Kristen Pfeffer instructed the young women in a zen yoga session promoting self-confidence and teaching yoga poses, while Ashley Reese brought out a little playful competition with indoor partner strength training.

That's not all! After a healthy lunch and snack break (Special thank you to Belkis Bites for providing meals!), Coach Bernard Henry of Crossfit Sanctuary got the room jumping and shaking with an exhilarating dance workout to some of our favorite songs by the likes of Drake, Bruno Mars, and Cardi B. Afterwards, the entire party went outside for a sweet competition where the young women competed in a weighted relay race. While passing along the 3-5lb weight, the girls had to compliment the next runner-up, adding a little more glitter (sweat) to their glow.

Creating an environment of motivation and sisterhood, staff and volunteers not only led and participated in the workouts and dance routine, but the young leaders also had a chance to speak to all of the girls individually to inspire the future leading ladies sharing personal experiences and motivating them to also pursue their dreams.

Like all good things, the day came to a healthy yet stimulating end. All of the Girl Scouts left with a PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT t-shirt, gift bags filled with hair and beauty products, notepads, a badge of honor and more!

Special thank you to Girl Scouts of Nassau County CEO Rande Bynum, Coach Bernard Henry of Crossfit Sanctuary and Anna Kaplan NY Senate Political Candidate.
