PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT Founder Aeshia DeVore Branch Launches 90s Skate Party FUNdraiser!

Since transitioning from her career as a TV producer in 2007, Aeshia DeVore Branch has dedicated her life to mentoring teen girls.

The alarming childhood obesity epidemic along with the void of entertaining yet positive fitness content and fitness events for young women (ages 13-22) led to the conception and rapid growth of her passionate venture. On her birthday November 19th, 2016, she leaned on the support of both men and women to empower and unite girls through fitness by teaming with donors, Aquafina and Jet Blue to launch a co-ed 90s Skate Party at Sparkles (Smyrna, GA) to recognize the charitable accomplishments of PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT and the "Teen Diaries Foundation".

Guests, including Amber Grimes (star of Oxygen's "Like A Boss") and Cortez Bryant (Lil Wayne's Manager), enjoyed a variety of gourmet tacos and pumpkin spiced caramel apples catered by chef Dorian Wallace and stayed hydrated with Aquafina and PACt® cranberry extract water.

After an evening of skating, TWO lucky donors, Christina Jenkins and Reco Moncell Gibson, scored TWO(2) round-trip tickets each to anywhere Jet Blue flies!

The FUNdraiser, which was DJ'd by music industry veteran Kawan Prather, aka "KP The Great", helped raise OVER $2,000 for the 501c3 nonprofit Teen Diaries, which will assist in funding free fitness and journalism programs for teen girls during the Spring 2017 semester.

FOUNDER | Aeshia is living her dream. The social entrepreneur unites and empowers girls to be health leaders in their communities. The child obesity epidemic along with the void of entertaining yet positive fitness content and events for young women (ages 13-22) led to the conception and rapid growth of her passionate venture. Before creating Pretty Girls Sweat, Aeshia worked in the TV industry for over 9 years - working her way up from an intern at ABC to a producer on Sundance Channel's celebrated, primetime series ICONOCLASTS. The former high school athlete (track, volleyball, and basketball) and proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was also a model for Wilhelmina in New York City. In her free time, the wife and mother of three girls enjoys reading inspirational books, listening to music, eating great food with friends, and enjoying the outdoors.
