Is your commitment to your workout routine evident upon opening your gym bag? In order to get the most out of a workout, it's imperative to be prepared, and that begins from the moment you begin packing your bag. We hate to break it to you, but one water bottle and your cell phone are not going to cut it if you are truly looking to begin or end your day with an intense sweat session. "People who exercise regularly generally live happier lives and are less stressed than those who do not." Having the necessities in your gym bag is the best way to set yourself up to beast through a workout, so don't forget to toss in these items
1. Water Bottles
During a long and tiring workout, it's recommended to drink 7 to 10 ounces every 10 to 20 minutes. Most gyms usually have a water fountain, but walking back and forth could cause you to lose valuable time. To make the most of your sweat session it's best to bring your own water bottle(s) that can be refilled.
2. Lip Balm
3. Face Towel
Busting out a tough workout is sure to leave you drenched in sweat, and what's better to wipe it away with than a personal towel from your own home? While you won't be the only one coming through dripping, using a towel is more sustainable than grabbing paper towels every 15 minutes to throw in the trash.
Which leads to having an extra stick of deodorant in your bag as well. No brainer right? No matter how you choose to handle the sweat glands under your arms, pack the products of your choice to swipe on before your workout and after showering.
What would a good workout be without music? We all have that one song that always gets us hype, and making a workout playlist is a great tool to encourage yourself and others to push through lengthy or short HIIT sessions. By adding music you can turn a tough workout into an entertaining activity.
6. Hair Ties
Ladies, how many times have you gone through an entire workout with a broken hair tie rather than going through the process of asking around for an extra one? It's time to save yourself! Having a pack of extra hair ties will come a long way because there is nothing more annoying than flyways getting your face during an intense workout.
7. Healthy Snacks
Once we have done our days’ work, a good way to refuel is to enjoy a protein or nutrition bar such as a Kind, Cliff Bar or a homemade protein shake. It's best to consume within 15 to 30 minutes post-workout, but if this isn't possible, aim for within 60 minutes.
