With her debut EP Find Me releasing in February, we could not wait to learn more about this rising artist.

Tell us about the inspiration behind your new EP Find Me.

When I was 16, my mom and I went to a safari in Kenya because there was a Groupon. Apparently it was a very dangerous time for Americans to be in Kenya due to their election, but I guess we were feeling extra adventurous.  Because we were basically the only ones on the safari at our camp, we became very friendly with our tour guide who took us to places where tourists usually are not taken. One place was a village consisting of 10 tents and about 35 people. The little boys were so cute, they saw us and cried with fear because they had never seen white people before. When we met with the chief of the tribe he offered my mother three camels and a goat if I could become his new bride. We assumed he was kidding, but as time went on we realized he wasn't. We were able to leave, but it was scary and tense for a few minutes and it  made merealize how so many women in this world have no rights and are treated like property.

It’s so important that everyone, especially females, know that they are in charge of their own life and nobody owns them. That is the message in my first single “Property”, my next single “Miles” is also about being stuck in a relationship and feeling like you have no power.

Being a Long Island native, what prompted your move out to Nashville?

I left New York to go to Nashville because it is the music city capital of the world and I thought it would be a great idea to go and discover Nashville, while also going to school. I'm currently a sophomore at Belmont University.

At what time/moment in your life did you decide singing was something you wanted to pursue professionally?

When I was little, I did modeling, commercials, and a lot of musicals. I really thought I would be an actress, but doing musicals, I realized I loved music. I started writing songs and haven't stopped.

Constantly singing and performing, what do you do to stay healthy and in shape?

To stay in shape and be healthy I do yoga every morning, I love to take dance class and I never take the elevator.

In the past, nodes were discovered on a part of your vocal chords. Doctors resisted operating on you, but you did not give up, why?

I realized if I wanted to sing and grow my voice I needed to remove the polyps from my vocal cord so I thought it was worth the risk.

Being on Broadway in South Africa, a finalist on The VOICE kid’s edition for the Today Show, and a regular at music festivals, what has been your most memorable moment?

I would say going on the Today Show on NBC kids their edition of The VOICE.  Singing live in front of millions of people, I was so nervous and I was only 14 years-old. After making it into the finals, I realized I should never be nervous again because I just sang  live on TV.

What famous musician/singer would you want to have a karaoke session with?

Miranda Lambert and Kelly Clarkson.

When you’re not writing songs or singing, what do you enjoy doing?

When I'm not writing, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going hiking, and binge watching Netflix.

Do you have any secret talents?

I can take a cherry in my mouth and tie the stem with my tongue.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I would love to be working on another album, touring, and growing as a musician and songwriter.

What advice would give to other young girls trying to pursue their dreams?

I would tell them to make sure you have the passion and drive because their are many low times where you'll have to dig deep and keep going.
