Black History Month is dedicated to black men and women who have made tremendous impacts to benefit the futures of colored people. From Rosa Parks to Martin Luther King to Frederick Douglass, we continue to learn more and more about black history. However, history isn’t the only thing that we need to recognize.
Black History Month also acknowledges the present and the future, making lasting impressions throughout the whole year. As the years go by, African-Americans continue to shock the world with new movements, cultures, and ideas. Those new impacts on America guarantee achievements, which is also what Black History Month celebrates. While recognizing the past, Black History Month also encourages the future by appreciating those who dramatically change America’s diverse population.
It's a time to celebrate the culture of African-American people, which is often neglected and unheard of. Oftentimes, we don't find many books on overcoming the health burdens (physical, mental, spiritual, etc.) that black women face every day. From personal narratives to health guides, the following seven books are provided for the benefit of exposing a new perspective and a new solution to black women's health challenges.

4. Soothe Your Nerves: The Black Woman's Guide to Understanding and Overcoming Anxiety, Panic, and Fear by Angela M. Neal-Barnett
