We can always count on our favorite celebs to deliver our daily dose of fitspiration! But, we’ve always wondered how they manage to maintain a healthy lifestyle? How does Ciara keep her abs rock hard? What does arm day look like when Michelle Obama hits the gym? These are the burning questions that we all want answers to!
Luckily, A-listers aren’t shy when it comes to talking about fitness and we rounded up the workout routines that they swear by. From actresses to artists, here is a rundown of how 7 of Hollywood’s hottest stars like to stay active.
Recording artist Ciara’s incredibly toned body has been drawing attention for nearly two decades. After welcoming two children, the “1,2 Step” singer has had to work harder than ever to lose the baby weight and maintain her figure. Her tight core is the result of working out several times a day. In 2015, she told Shape: "I would go to Gunnar Peterson first for my one-hour training session, then I'd have two more cardio sessions later in the day. That, along with a really clean eating plan, was how I lost 60 pounds in four months.” Ciara is also known to squeeze in a sweat session with her husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. Couple goals, right?!
Former FLOTUS Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign inspired us all to get active. As a health advocate, Mrs. Obama has always practiced what she preached and incorporates fitness into her daily life. From kickboxing to jump rope, watch some of Obama’s favorite ways to sweat in this 2015 video. Since leaving the White House, Obama has also been spotted at SoulCycle classes.
Preparing for her 2016 wedding is what made singer and songwriter Adrienne Bailon get serious about health and wellness. She enlisted the help of master trainer Massy Arias to help sketch out a fitness plan. Bailon told Yahoo: “I have to get 45 minutes of cardio in first thing in the morning.” Her cardio workouts of choice? Ellipticals, pilates, SoulCycle, and hiking. Bailon is also a fan of Zumba and hung out with PRETTY GIRLS SWEAT for a Zumba party in 2013.
Supermodel Chanel Iman has graced magazine covers and runways globally and is known for her jaw-dropping looks and body. Back in 2015, the model told Vogue Australia her secrets to staying in tip-top shape. “I kind of just do a little boxing. I work with a personal trainer when I have special shoots coming up. I like hiking, bike riding,” she said.
Last year, The Real co-host Jeannie Mai opened up to PEOPLE about her trouble with eating and weight gain. “I was eating— if you were my friend and you hung out with me, you would see me just normally eating my food— but there was a level of control to it that I knew if I woke up the next day and weighed myself I was over 103 [pounds], I would scale it back and make sure that I didn’t creep one ounce over that weight.”
In May 2018, she shared how she has begun to overcome her struggles. “I started a new eating plan and training program and gained 17 lbs. I don't have a weight goal..just a promise to be as physically strong as I am mentally indestructible.” Mai lifts weights 3-4 days a week to target her back, leg, and butt muscles. Between balancing motherhood and her recurring role as Susan Bishop on Siren, Garcelle Beauvais is a busy woman. Despite being an on-the-go actress, Beauvais aims to find time to break a sweat every week. “Pilates is what I have always done -- and cardio! If I can do it three times a week, then I feel like I am on the right track! It’s hard when you have mommy stuff and work…. I really try to prioritize my time so I can work out,” she told Livestrong.
The actress and new mom, who most recently appeared as Mrs. Who in A Wrinkle in Time, has been breaking a sweat in a variety of ways. In a May 2018 interview with Shape, Kaling opened up about how she is working to lose the baby weight. She said, “I work out four to five times a week when I'm not shooting. I like to mix up my workouts: I'll do a SoulCycle class, a strength-training class with my trainer, and yoga once a week.” Kaling has called on proud PGS supporter and celebrity trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, to help her achieve her fitness goals.
