5 Amazing Vegan Treats to Try This Holiday

The holiday season has the power to bring people together. From parties, presents, and my personal favorite, the sweets, this season is most definitely one filled with cheer. Over the years, I’ve been missing out on many of my after dinner favorites as a vegan. Yes, it was a pain to see everyone around me enjoying rice crispy treats and chocolate cake, but I eventually found the following recipes. These are simple yet delicious and are sure to please any vegan and dessert lover alike. Click on your favorite to take you right to the recipe!

Rice Crispy Treats

One of my absolute favorites, rice crispy treats, are a go-to for any holiday occasion. This recipe gives the classic snack a nutty twist. Instead of using marshmallows and butter, it calls for peanut butter and brown rice syrup. If you have to keep a peanut allergy in mind, cashew, sunflower, and almond butter are options as well.

Pumpkin Rolls

A gluten-free take on the original roll, this recipe still gives it a rich and flavorful taste. Pumpkin has so many amazing health benefits such as being rich in vitamin C, supports heart health and is an excellent source of potassium. With this recipe already having a low sugar content, I’d say this dessert is a win-win.

Sugar Cookies

Christmas cookies always make an appearance at any holiday get-together. This veganized recipe is a simple yet fun way to bring about the holiday spirit. You can give the cookies their flair by using different cookie cutters; stars, candy canes, Christmas trees, the options are endless!

Ultimate Vegan Chocolate Cake

This recipe has to be the best one out there for vegan chocolate cakes. I enjoyed it so much the first time tried it that I made it my birthday cake! Yes, it’s that delicious and surely won’t disappoint any lover of sweets. To give it an extra dose of chocolate love, I add vegan semi-sweet dark chocolate morsels.

Last but not least, cheesecake! The great thing about this plain recipe is that you can customize it to your taste. Add vegan chocolate, fruit, caramel (watch out for milk in some major brands), or as is!

Desserts are the highlight of any holiday get-together! If you’re vegan, health-conscious or just someone willing to try new things, these recipes are sure to satisfy. Remember, enjoying sweet treats doesn’t have to be consequential!
