4 New Year’s Hair Resolutions for Healthier, Happier Natural Hair


While you may have already mapped out your personal and career resolutions for the New Year, January is also the perfect opportunity to make a list of your hair goals for the next twelve months. Whether you simply want to grow out your fro or just want healthier and happier tresses, these four tips will have your hair looking its best all year long.

   1. Say “no” to heat.

   Many of us are so accustomed to grabbing the blow dryer and straightener, but using too much heat can cause breakage and split ends. To make sure your hair grows as much as possible in 2017, challenge yourself to go at least 30 days without using heat on your hair. Having to go without your flat iron will force you to learn how to do cute and easy heat free hairdos (like these) and hopefully encourage you to put away the hot hair tools for most of the year.

2. Start reading the labels on your hair products.

The products you use on your hair play a major role in how healthy your hair is. Sulfates, silicones, and parabens – which are common ingredients in many top hair care products - can be quite damaging to all hair types as they often build up on strands and dry out your hair.
