10 Healthy Snacks You Need to Buy

Often, a snack's packaging will be embellished with the words "HEALTHY," while the nutrition facts on the other side of the package can reveal high fats, sodium, or sugar content.
 
As a figure skater, I rely on store-bought snacks as fuel for practice. Although nutritionists recommend fresh fruits and vegetables for a nourishing snack, my household sometimes runs out of those foods. Store-bought snacks serve as an excellent back-up for moments like those. They're quick and easy to pack on a busy morning. In figure skating, there's a large emphasis on feeling light on your feet, so I typically look for snacks that boost my energy levels instead of making me feel lethargic.
 
But with so many prices, brands, and ingredients to consider, shopping for healthy snacks that are actually good for you can get overwhelming. To make it a bit easier for you, I put together a list of 10 snacks with simple ingredients and truly transparent nutrition labels. Many of them have become my favorite snacks to munch on in between skating practices.

1. Siggi's Icelandic Yogurt

 
Siggi's yogurt is made only with skim milk and live active cultures. Its products are all-natural, gluten-free, and non-GMO verified.
