10 Great Ways to Exercise and U.O.E.N.O.

Ever feel like traditional methods of working out get old and boring? Here are a few fun activities that do not feel like modern forms of exercise but are capable of burning tons of calories and U.O.E.N.O.
 
Rock Climbing – This is one of the best arm/back/forearm workouts ever.
 
Dancing – Whether at home or a party dancing is sure to easily help you break a sweat. Zumba? Tango? Bachata?  You’d be surprised how quickly dancing can elevate your heart rate.
 
Roughhousing – With your siblings, boyfriend or whoever. Don’t forget what it’s like to have the energy of a child.
 
Play video games - Hook up Just Dance on Xbox Kinect, Wii Tennis, Wii Fit, or Dance Revolution. After an hour of playing games that force you to be active, you will be pretty exhausted.
 
Martial arts - Whether it’s Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Karate or Capoeira, there is a form of martial arts that will grasp your attention enough to break a sweat once in a while.
 
Do handstands - This is a fun activity that builds up serious arm and core strength. Channel your inner Gabby Douglas do handstands, cartwheels, somersaults, and whatever else makes you break a sweat without breaking bones.
 
Clean - Ugh, since most teens complain about cleaning, make a game out of it. See how much you can accomplish with a single song blasting.  Of course, after getting through one song you’ve already started, might as well keep going.  To up the ante, compete with your siblings or roommate(s).
 
Take a trip to the playground – Go down the slide, swing across the monkey bars, climb the rope, balance on the balance beam.  Create an obstacle course and see how quickly you can get through it.  The opportunities are endless!
 
Bike to work – Why not save money and get a workout!?
 
Play childhood games – Remember those games you played as a kid? Steal the bacon? Freeze tag? Red Light, Green Light? Get a few friends together and give it a try. It will be the most fun you’ve had in a while!
